Put the carafe in place and press and hold the clean button for 2 to 3 seconds so the machine will work as clean mode. Let the machine run for several minutes. Open and close the brew head for a single k cup machine, then press 10 oz. This way, the water and vinegar solution cleans the inside elements.
Step 4: Change The Mixer
After completing the cycle, remove the carafe and then remove the mixer. After that, fill the carafe with cool water and run the brew cycle again. Before making the first cup of coffee, flush out the extra vinegar to make it ready for action.
Step 5: Clean the Reusable Filter or K Cup Compartment
The coffee comes with a reusable filter where you put the ground coffee. Wash it every time you make a coffee. Clean any soapy residue.
Also, you can use a toothbrush, dish soap, and vinegar. First, remove the reservoir and drip tray. Then remove the k cup holder and funnel and soak them in hot soapy water. Then clean them with a brush and rinse them with normal water. Let them sit dry.
Now open the filter lid and scrape out the leftover coffee grounds with a cleaning toothbrush. After that, take a microfibre cloth, spray some all-purpose cleaner, and then wipe down the outside of the machine. If you see any hard water build-up, spray some white vinegar on that area and let it sit until the build-up starts to break. Now you are ready for your next cup of coffee.
How to Clean The Coffee Maker Without Vinegar
Use lemon juice instead when you don’t have the white vinegar to clean your Cuisinart. Make a solution with 2/3 of the water and 1/3 of the lemon juice, then pour them into the reservoir. Also, you can use 1:3 part of vodka and water.
How Many Times Should You Run Vinegar?
It would help to run or brew the vinegar solution at least once to clean the coffee maker. Also, clean once or twice a month to prevent rust and gunk build-up. However, some say using a little bleach instead of white vinegar removes the mold, mildew, and other germs better.
